The roof of our wedding arbour is complete!

The cone shape required the slates to be cut smaller and smaller the further towards the top they progressed, which made for tricky work at a 45-degree angle and at such a great height.  And the top four or five rows are tiny indeed, but are now in place, and capped with leadwork at the peak.

Now the scaffolding is away the structure can be admired in all its glory. It is magnificent.

The electrics are ready to go in next, then the floor slates will be laid, and the new steps cut into the bank will be filled and sanded.  We can begin to imagine our first ceremonies now.
